Become a FirefighterEvery firefighter serving the Village is also a licensed paramedic, allowing our crews to provide advanced medical care and emergency services whenever they're needed. Whether responding to a fire, medical emergency, vehicle crash, or hazardous materials incident our members are committed to protecting lives, property, and the quality of life within our community.
Beyond emergency response, the Fire Department works proactively to keep residents and businesses safe through fire prevention programs, inspections, community education, public events, and emergency preparedness initiatives.

The primary mission of the Gurnee Fire Department is to provide a variety of services designed to protect the lives and property of the community we serve, by providing prompt and professional services in the event of fire, medical emergencies and disasters or any other event which may threaten the public welfare.
