Security Assessments

Looking for ways to improve the safety and security of your property or business?

The Gurnee Police Department offers security assessments for businesses, houses of worship, schools, community organizations, and other facilities. During the assessment, an officer will review your property and provide recommendations to help reduce opportunities for crime, improve visibility, enhance access control, and strengthen overall security.

Recommendations may include:

  • Landscaping and visibility considerations
  • Door and window security
  • Camera placement
  • Access control measures
  • Parking lot safety
  • Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles
