Commercial solicitors are allowed to go door to door in Gurnee, but they must follow Village rules. Individual solicitors are required to obtain a permit and may only solicit between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.

You can download the Commercial Solicitor Application Packet and bring the completed form, along with the $10 fee, to the Gurnee Police Department between the hours of 8am - 4pm at:

“No Solicitors” Signs

If you do not want solicitors at your home, Village ordinance requires that you display a clear sign stating this. “No Solicitors” signs are available at most home improvement stores.


Reporting a Solicitor Without a Permit

If someone comes to your door without a visible Village of Gurnee permit, contact the Police Department right away. You will be asked for:

  • A description of the solicitor

  • Your location

An officer will be sent to check the situation.
