Current water and sewer rates, outside agency fees, and billing information are provided below.

The Village adjusts water and sewer rates annually each May. Current rates are shown below. Water and sewer usage is prorated to accurately assign charges over the billing period.

Water Rates (As of May 1, 2026)

  • Water Meter Fee: $13.32
  • Water Rate (per 1,000 gallons): $6.16

Sewer Rates (for Village to maintain sewer lines):

  • Sewer Base Fee: $4.44
  • Sewer Rate (per 1,000 gallons): $1.93

In addition to Village water and sewer charges, customers pay sewage treatment fees to an outside agency based on their location.

  • East of I-94: Billed separately
    • North Shore Water Reclamation District (NSWRD) sends customers a separate bill for sewage treatment.
    • Residents also pay a property tax that helps fund wastewater treatment services.
  • West of I-94: $7.72 / 1,000 gallons (included on your Village water bill)
    • This charge includes both the NSWRD and Lake County Public Works (LCPW) fees for wastewater treatment services.
    • The Village collects this fee but passes it directly to NSWRD and LCPW.

Since 2015, NSWRD and LCPW have adjusted wastewater treatment rates as part of a long-term rate schedule.
