The Village of Gurnee hosts dedicated electronics recycling events at the Gurnee Public Works Facility to provide a free, responsible disposal method for items banned from regular landfills by state law.
Open exclusively to local residents who present a government ID, these community collections accept up to seven residential electronic items per household, including televisions, computers, monitors, and printers - provided they are stripped of all packaging, manuals, and batteries. Because commercial waste is strictly prohibited and the local household chemical facility does not accept e-waste, the Village coordinates these specific events alongside county-wide resources to ensure electronic scrap is safely processed.
Additionally, SWALCO offers year-round electronics recycling at various locations throughout Lake County.
Visit SWALCO's Electronics Recyling Drop-Off Locations page for locations, times, and hours.
