The Village of Gurnee hosts Styrofoam recycling events twice a year (generally spring and fall). Only clean, dry and #6 labeled polystyrene products such as food containers and molded blocks are accepted at these events. Packing peanuts, straws, and lids are strictly prohibited.
If you are unable to make these events, the City of Highland Park offers free styrofoam recycling to all Lake County residents every Tuesday and every 1st Saturday of each month.
The City of Highland Park's recycling center is located at 1180 Half Day Rd. Download the Styrofoam Recycling flyer for more information.
