ElderCARE Lake County's mission is to support older adults in living independently for as long as possible by facilitating community connection, promoting dignity and autonomy, and combating isolation and loneliness. ElderCARE provides free medical transportation, grocery shopping assistance, technology assistance, friendly in-person visits & reassurance phone calls to older adults aged 60+. Older adults' independence is a key factor in their social and physical well-being, yet it remains a significant challenge for those who are aging in place with limited financial resources to access the services they need.

More information about the services provided by ElderCARE is below. For even more information or to sign up for the program, visit ElderCARE's website.

ElderCARE Lake County is a volunteer-driven, 501(c)3 non-profit. Volunteers are always needed and welcomed!

Services Offered by ElderCARE Lake County
An ElderCARE volunteer escorts seniors to their vehicle, takes them to their medical appointment and returns them back home. ElderCARE also assists with drop-off and pick-up from lengthy appointments such as dialysis. Please provide at least 10 days notice when requesting. Two round trip rides per month may be scheduled.
Do you or a senior that you know need assistance getting groceries? Access to healthy food is important. Through ElderCARE grocery shopping service, volunteers take the grocery list and make the trip to the store. Seniors pay for the groceries and the service is free.
Living alone can be challenging, especially when it’s tough to get out and interact with others. ElderCARE’s friendly visits services provide an opportunity for seniors to develop lasting friendships by phone or over a cup of tea or a game.
Navigating today's digital world can be overwhelming, especially when technology is always changing. ElderCARE pairs volunteers & interns with care receivers who may receive support with things like using smartphones, sending emails, video chatting with loved ones, telehealth appointments, learning to use QR codes, or accessing online services.
