Pay Online FAQs

Wasn't online bill pay already available?

For some time, the Village has offered online utility bill payment, which provided only an account balance. The new CSS system provides detailed account history, current and previous consumption history and carries no additional fee. You pay only the amount you owe for water and sewer service.

How does it work? It's easy to do!
  • Be sure you have your account number and customer ID available (you'll find it listed at the top of your bill). Your account number is the first 5 digits before the dash, and your customer ID is the second set of five digits after the dash.

Residents and businesses may pay their water bill by check or cash at Village Hall, 325 N. O’Plaine Road, during regular business hours.  Village Hall is open Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm, closed on some holidays.

Residential and commercial customers may pay their water bills via mail.

When you receive your water bill from the Village of Gurnee and have a balance due, you also receive a return envelope.  Simply place your check, along with the remittance stub from your invoice, in the envelope.

Be sure to include your Account Number on your check and allow sufficient time for mailing and processing.  If you mail your payment directly to Village Hall, this may delay processing of your payment.

Residential and business customers may enroll in the Village’s Water Bill Automatic Bank Debit program in which the amount of your water bill will be deducted automatically from your checking or savings account.

Participants in this payment service will continue to receive a water statement on a bi-monthly basis. The statement will be sent to let you know in advance the amount to be deducted from your account. On the bill due date, the water bill payment will be deducted automatically from the checking or savings account you have authorized the Village to use. There is no fee for automatic bank debiting.

In order to participate in this program, you will need to submit the the AutoDebit Form and Disclosure Statement (PDF). This is a fillable form; open the PDF, download to your computer, click in the fields, and type your information. When you have finished, print and return the form to the VIllage of Gurnee in one of the two ways listed at the top of the form.

Residents and businesses may pay their water bills by check via the night deposit box located immediately to the right of the Village Hall's main entrance, 325 N. O’Plaine Road. Enclose your check in an envelope with the remittance stub from your invoice.  Be sure to include your Account Number on your check.
